mschere...it strengthens the tdd side of the portfolio...specifically tdscdma....i never viewed qcom as a potential suitor until the problems w/ china and tdscdma surfaced

I think QCOM needs the IDCC TDD for one thing, and another thing is the QCOM patents are getting old and I am not sure if they even with continuation patents would be able to be collected on. I also think IDCC has the biggest percentage of 3G patents. I also think like some companies buy their competition out to protect their territory, tha QCOM doesn't need any competition, especially if CDMA2000 can be achieved with IDCC patents or a close enough version. I am no technical person, but trust me QCOM would love to own the IDCC patent portfolio and have that cash coming in, and maybe they keep IDCC as a wholly owned subsidary.
