I am not sure how you got what you are arguing against from my post. I was stating that it is ludicrous to be calling it "intelligent design" instead of what it really is, creationism.

If you remember, I am for the most part a defender of separation of church and state, although perhaps I come at it from a bit different slant than most here. I do make an exception for creation science, where creationism is not competing against true science, but another religion -- that of secular humanism. It takes more blind faith to believe in evolution than creationism -- both are theories and neither can be proven by scientific method. In my mind, creationism is far more satisfying as an answer to the origen of the species than is evolution -- evolution has no answer whatsoever to the question of the origen of life.

As long as one theory is being taught, why not the other??

Correct, but on the other hand I don't have a problem with schools when the kids are young letting them celebrate the religious holidays.



Last year my son's secular school/public spent a week on each religious holiday in his kindergarten class. I personally thought it was a good idea so that the kids learn early about DIVERSITY and RESPECT for one another's religion.
