IMO, the settlement was forced on Lucent and Tantivy so quickly I don't think they had a chance to really go into details. I think there were discussions in general terms such as "wouldn't it benefit our two companies to enter into a business relationship since our patent portfolios have many similarities." I think BM could have repeated what was said in those discussions without giving anything away. But I guess events happened so quickly I think he felt it was prudent to say as little as possible. But that just gave the impression that it was a nuisance settlement. We are going to have to live with that from the naysayers for awhile until something positive develop from the relationship. Let us hope it is soon.
