More logically, though, the preparer of the document types in the name of the company he's preparing it for.
And, in the case of a pile of CA's sitting on someone's desk, doesn't add the name of a possible second signatory.
That, of course, is additional proof that it was only a CA, not that any is needed. Had it been a JV agreement, whoever drafted it would have known in advance who both parties were.
