felix7, "I don't see it happening unless they are getting a ton of pressure and feel they must."

From what I hear they are getting a lot of pressure and many shareholders have expressed their thoughts to the BOD.

How could they not give a special dividend some serious thought with all the publicity on that issue on CNBC and other business channels?

Yesterday Costco announced a $7.00 special dividend adding them to a growing list of companies returning profits to the shareholders.

CNBC just had a list of companies that could possibly pay out a special dividend so there's plenty of talk out there.

I find it hard to believe that IDCC is willing to pay our taxes on profits and the rate we pay rather than issue a special dividend to the shareholders and let them pay at their personal tax rate.

Those with shares in IRA's would pay at a later date when they make a withdrawal and some like me with shares in a Roth would never pay a tax.

I would love to get a special dividend b4 year end, however, anyone who thinks we are...go back and listen (not read) the last cc where somebody asked management if they would be maybe giving one out and the way they answered it sounded like they scoffed at the thought of it.

Funny how they scoff at giving a special dividend, but they don't mind handing out bonuses to themselves..........btw, it's not even funny.
