>>I am a strict constructionist in this respect following the dicti of Gen 2:7, until it has taken an independent breath, it is not alive, it is not a human being it is not a person.
Zeev,
I see how you could interpret Gen 2:7 that way. However, as you probably know there are other scriptures that claim God is already relating to the fetus/baby before birth. Gen 2:7 could mean God quickened the first human directly with His breath. Offspring from the first would then already have that divine touch.
Coupling the following text from Isaiah with scientific and physical response data leads me to conclude that the entity is a living human before birth. If not, I think one could simply but a plastic bag over the child's head during delivery to prevent breathing (or deliver in a vacuum chamber). Then fully deliver the breathless child, cut the umbilical cord, and kill it in broad daylight. Then toss her aside like a decayed tooth or inflamed tonsil. If this was proper in God's sight, there would be no remorse - even joy as is the case for someone who just had a gall bladder removed.
Surely this is a horrific image. How would you react to such an event?
Isaiah 49:1 Listen to Me, O islands, And pay attention, you peoples from afar. The LORD called Me from the womb; From the body of My mother He named Me.
