- Creating more private sector jobs in 3 years than his predecessor did in 8. (Not an accomplishment--very LOW growth in jobs after massive deficit spending where population growth alone generates minimal job Actually after a free fall in which GDP dropped by close to 10% and over 4.4 million jobs were lost in 2008 and close to over 2 million the first 6 months of 2009. As for the massive deficit spending in 2009 very little of the stimulus was being spend in FY2009 so much of that deficit was Bush's as it was his budget
- Passing the stimulus which stopped a free fall of our economy and helped saved jobs - Almost universally accepted as WAY TOO EXPENSIVE given the results and passed as "shovel ready" (lie). NOT an accomplishment to expensive by who? Not economists. plus 50% of the stimulus was tax breaks - republicans like tax breaks but as these were aimed at the middle class and poor republicans didn't like them to much
- the Auto bailout where close to 1 million + jobs were saved even though this was passed by BUSH - $25 Billion loss to taxpayers and illegal upending of business law by giving equity to unions at the expense of bondholders -actually we have not sustained a loss until we sell the asset and you crying over bondholders is kinda funny as they would have been wiped out by bankruptcy
- eliminating pre-existing conditionsROFLMAO-- why not say completing 105 rounds of golf? oh yes let's bring back pre-existing conditions - your comment makes no sense
- 6 million + 25 and under children covered on their parents health insurance - Obamacare. Slammed through by bribing Senators and Comgressman--Pelosi says we have to pass the Bill to find out what;s in it. Polls say voters do not like the bill. ONE facet of a bill does not an accomplishment make Actually when polled the majority of people do like the individual components but some are ignorant of what it contains- Most people like this component including the republicans - sorry
- Donut hole closed for seniors - See Above sorry but most seniors like this as well and do not want this gone- although Mitt day 1 will cause seniors to start to pay more on their medicare if he gets rid of Obamacare
- 85% of insurance premiums must now be used to pay for claims - reducing the rate on increasing in health insurance and slowing it's growth - Accomplishment to infringe on private enterprise? Hmmm....Yes it is an accomplishment as it's done all the time by governments at both the state and federal level - it's called regulation and Insurance companies have always been regulated
- taking military troops out of Iraq YAY. There is one!
- stopping wasteful spending on Medicare Advantage in which medical procedures where paid at an 18% premium over what Medicare would spend for the same services saving medicare close to $50 Billion per year and slowing the growth of Medicare and extending it's life by at least 8 years. - Totally untrue. Medicare is going broke even with Obamacare actually it's totally true - Bush and Republicans tried to get private insurers to compete with Medicare and created Medicare Advantage - for the same services provided by Medicare they had to reimburse Medicare advantage 18% more. Obama said no as it's a subsidy we should be making as it drains Medicare faster and by only reimbursing those private insurers at medicare rates they save close to $50 billion per year - sorry but this is big and it does extend Medicare by 8 years. Romney wanting to put it back will cause medicare to go in the red by 2016 - not smart
- reducing payments to inefficient hospitals and paying less to pharma in medicare and also beefing up fraud policing saving additional 10's of billions per year. - Wow, so desperate to list accomplishments that you are using line items in One bill. Going after Medicare Fraud is an ongoing goal that never quite gets done well, by both parties. Hospitals will go out of business--reducing healthcare access in that area. The Law of Unintended Consequences prevails. Obama unlike others seriously went after Medicare fraud and is seriously saving billions - as for paying inefficient hospitals -sorry but Medicare should not pay for inefficiency - let the private insurers pay for that if they want
- being able to do this with zero support from RepublicansAh...compromise is defined by Democrats as doing what they want done. How about Reid presentingg a budget to the Senate so the Republicans can at least see what a budgetary proposal from the Democratic side would look like. - actually Obama incorporated many Republican ideas and passed many bills that in the past republicans supported but because there is a black man who also happens to be a democrat he got zero support
You should bone up on your knowledge
- Obama also passed the Start treaty with Russia
- Signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay act
- got rid of Don't Ask Don't Tell
- got private banks out of college loans saving tax payers billions
