I think its a bug-bite that starts it. several of mine had gotten those this year...none last year.

I'm not sure whether that's blossom end rot or not. I'm inclined to think not. I've had the same problem with a few of my peppas, too, though the bad parts aren't as extensive. Since I've used the same soil in my containers for years, I'm inclined to think it's somehow weather-related.

You can still eat the good parts.
