It's weird. It looks kind of like teeth marks but it doesn't go all the way through and I only see what looks like a skinny stink bug on it.

I think its a bug-bite that starts it. several of mine had gotten those this year...none last year.

You know, you could be right. For me, some years the culprits have been stinkbugs. They even like very hot peppas.
