Actually I didn't say "no government" - what I said is no STATE or LOCAL gov't.
This tragedy is so overwhelming only the fed gov't has the resources to handle it. We are paying millions $$$ for HOMELAND SECURITY and FEMA and should expect better than they gave. GWB initially said the fed gov't response was not good enough, and he was right. Now Karl Rove's trademark has appeared and we're back to GWB and his admin NEVER taking responsibility for anything that goes wrong - it's the fault of the state and local gov't.
Is there plenty of blame to go around? I am sure there probably is, but you cannot say with a straight face that HS and FEMA did what we would have expected from them.
