Burpzilla: The Clinton years are often boasted about as prosperous by liberals. With the higher taxes and prosperity, one could ask why weren't the funds allocated and the levies improved during the Clinton Administration years and why aren't you holding that administration responsible?

Partisan finger pointing is never about helping, but about focusing blame on the opposition for purely political gain without respect for truth and fairness.

Italic I believe your interest is more about politics than the hurricane, so please continue to use the political boards for that.

heck, burpzilla, you think my posts are political and LG's are not?

My participation in this thread started when LG raised the question of preparedness to which I posted a relevant article.
You really can't touch this issue without delving into politics, since it involves what public figures - from the local to the national level - did in anticipation of a situation such as the unfortunate one we have today.

PS and I should mention I have no axe to grind with LG at all.

I have to agree with hiker about this situation having to do with politics.

It seems, it takes tragedies like this to make us realize that we aren't really prepared.

I'm not pointing fingers at this administration because this could have happened 10 years ago and I believe the results would have benn the same.

We thought that we had learned something from 9/11. A lot of criticism was around then about how disorganized the NYPD and NYFD were because of faulty equipment and things.

It seems to be that nothing is really done until after something terrible happens.

Will we learn from this? Sadly, I don't think so.
