Re: It's a thread full of monkeys over there.

True, and this is probably the most passionate and controversial issue they've ever had a chance to comment on over there. So you should expect it to bring out various psychological ailments that even the reasonable ones prefer to keep closeted . Even Freud wouldn't be able to penetrate the psyches over there, so it's fruitless to try.

I am not presumptuous enough to claim exactly what the courts will decide, but I can agree that the issue is controversial, and different people are going to have different opinions on whether Intel's business tactics are "right" or "wrong". Like you've said before, it all depends on how your view free market competition, and what constraints you would put on it legally to the best benefit of American economics. And people are going to disagree. It has nothing to do with "good" vs "evil", even though the 'Droids would like to boil it down to that. In the end, it's up to the courts to decide, because like I said before and still believe, the Court of Public Opinion is unimportant and ever changing and fickle. AMD is not going to gain much in the end except maybe to keep Intel busy and on their toes while the litigations are in progress.

Well they are a bunch of amd employees and are too chicken to admit it.

keith, is reasonable and it appears has been wounded by Intel and their business tactics. I read Keith's posts and he's got good points and I respect him. The others hmmm droidland.

Re: It's not about monopoly ... except when it is.

Yes, that's correct. Some of Intel's crimes violoted anti-monopoly laws and other Intel crimes violoated other laws. Is this too complicated for you?

- Damages will be $10 billion before punitive.
A reasonable approximation, but the Jury can decide otherwise. We won't know until the damages are read.

- AMD's business is strong, but it could have been "really strong."
Have you seen how thoroughly AMDs Price/performance Watt/performance stomps Intels? Why then are AMD's products blocked from the market?

- OEMs have a virtual "gun to their head" and so do consumers.
That's a quote from one of the OEMs, take it up with him if you disagree.

- Intel better settle this quickly and set aside a ton of money for AMD and its shareholders.
I don't think AMD is going to let Intel off with a settlement, I think AMD is taking this all the way.
