so...if IDCC comes out with a sweet deal, then it is ok. But the fact that they went quiet, enabled manipulation of the stock price short term. But shareholder value is the end game...we are talking "share holder" value, not options holder and short term trader value.

I own a few shares of wi-lan. I'm not touting wi-lan at all, but a few months ago, wi-lan made an offer to buy mosaid. Wi-lan announced they had made a hostile bid for $38, I think. Course mosaid and shareholders from both sides approved of or threw a fit as it happened to be the case, but both companies and shareholders knew ahead of time a bid was being made.

Things didn't go well so whether it's a good move or not, wi-lan increased their offer to $42 and has given mosaid until November 1 to make or reject a deal.

Point being that the shareholders have some information with which to base their investments on buy, sell or hold. For the life of me, I can't see any gain to IDCC or IDCC'S shareholders to shroud this whole affair in secrecy.

In addition, while I'm at it, I'm thinking IDCC's bond issue was damaging and sucks also as I don't see that it added value to my shares. I don't like it, but can't do anything about it other than to complain. I've got no problems with anyone putting me on ignore, but this is the way I see it. Think I'll take a walk. mo.. nic
