Sorry my analogy of 'drawing on the river' may have been misleading.
The image itself won't drift upwards, but it seems areas lit up will heat unevenly, as some will be blank, some fully lit etc.
It seems youll be left with liquid at different densities flowing throw the image space causing distortions (think of shimmering air above a road on a hot summer day causing mirages).
Even without uneven distortion, unless the liquid is refractively neutral to the outside air, it be like looking at an object immersed in a jar of water is my guess. In that case I would guess it would need to be cubically shaped to minimize warped lensing effects.
Theres just many more unknowns to me now, going from a sparse, solid cube to a moving refrigerated liquid.
Im not backing out, but I have many more unknowns with this technology than when I started.
