Hook, Cool! My first job out of college was as a finance rep for John Deere, and there were several discussions about the trend of the Mennonite and Amish that were modernizing their farms; the problem was that in spite of fantastic looking balance sheets, they had almost no established credit. But I don't recall one instance of default or even delinquency among them. It may not have been widespread, but I know of several Mennonite farmers in the Northern Missouri/Southern Iowa area that financed some big tractor purchases.
Here is a neat picture I thought you might like. Notice the "3" horse team; the horse on the left is the guide horse or lead horse; (the ladies will like to know that this lead horse is often, not always, but often times a mare btw). The 2 bigger/stronger horses to the right do most of the pulling.
