Until January 27th, we will simply have more sabre rattling (now we also want to attack North Korea?) 1/27 is also Election day in Israel, I have not seen any polls result from there recently but that may have an impact as well.
The seasonality effect is really poorly related to either economic or political background. I believe the seasonal strength is caused by relief of tax selling pressure, absence of the normal professional hedgers and other "market restraining elements") in the last few days of the year, and then in the first two weeks of the year, the deployment of pension and Ira funds from corporations.
