Take ANYTHING you read in the press about a possible Iraq war with more than a few grains of salt. Lots of disinformation and "black" propaganda there to put it mildly. Looks to me like US psywar people are trying to provoke a coup in Iraq. Whether we really will go to war if such a coup does not occur is very much an open question IMHO.
