In Toronto, we now have to pay special surcharges every year just to have a garbage bin! About three sizes with three different prices. We also have "recycling" boxes (all recyclables go in one bin) and tamper proof (racoons) organic boxes.
It's interesting that I see the recycling bins overflowing much more often than garbage bins nowadays.
If people were to realize that most of those plastics actually end up in landfill, I think JBI could go bananas just by that revelation alone.
If they did that around here people would start hauling there garbage down to city hall and dropping it off. jk, but seriously, there would be a lot more illegal dumping.
