Yes, and the monomethyl form is actually the active moiety. So I'm assuming the monomethyl form is not orally absorbed well.

Strangely enough, dimethyl fumarate is used as a desiccant and anti-mold agent in the packaging of various consumer items. Unfortunately it's also a contact allergen for some folks, leading to strange publications such as the following:
