Here's todays WT-A...

C) Exit freeway at first opportunity and park in open area.

ANSWER: C) Correct! An Earthquake can occur without any warning, even if seismograph activity has failed to predict it. Driving in an Earthquake can be extremely hazardous due to the potential for freeway, bridge, or overpass collapse as well as trees, poles, power lines or debris.

If you are in traffic when an Earthquake hits, gradually reduce your speed and look for the safest exit to pull over and park in a clear, open area. Do not brake suddenly as that can catch other drivers off guard and cause an accident. Do not park under bridges or overpasses or near buildings, poles, trees, or power lines.

Stay in your vehicle with seatbelt fastened. Only exit the vehicle if staying poses an additional threat to safety. Listen to your radio for emergency information. Be prepared by keeping emergency kit in your vehicle including first aid kit, water, blankets, and a flashlight.
