Thanks for reposting that DD - I must have missed it first time around.

I wonder if that is likely to result in much delay to the granting of the patent or if such amendements are a routine part of the filing process?

QTMM TQD Patent Application activity as of 5/17/11...

They made a number of re-submittals to the patent office on 5/17.
Among these are the payment of re-submittal fees , the request for
continued examination & arguments as to the unique methodologies
& formulas in Dr.Wongs invention.
They appear to have talked directly [interviewed] to the examiner to determine his
points of contention , followed by their subsequent rebuttals addressing specific
claims & the interpretation thereof...
complete with comparative differentiations between 'prior art' claims & Dr.Wongs'.
Interestingly , the rebuttal includes data that indicates that some of the 'prior art'
claims are without merit....Dr.Wongs group tested these formulas & found that
"they don't work".
Quoting the "conclusion" of the arguments [rebuttal] , see the following text:
"Having addressed all the rejections in the Office Action, Applicant believes the
current application is now in immediate condition for allowance. Accordingly, the
Examiner is respectfully requested to pass this application to issue. Applicant
respectfully request the Examiner contact the undersigned if there are any further
issues to resolve."
