for HIV they need lifelong therapy - if HIV could be cured in 6 months i bet you wouldn't need a third agent for added protection against resistance but let me say in general i agree with you re 3 agents - certainly a better chance, i was just saying IF any drugs had a chance in HCV it would be these high barrier to resistance agents
Although the viruses themselves are very different, it’s worth noting that Truvada is almost never used by itself in HIV. Truvada is conceptually similar to VRUS’ 2-drug HCV combo insofar as it consists of a purine nuke and a pyrimidine nuke with non-overlapping barriers to resistance.
You fail to mention that Truvada was the SOC in HIV before the release of Atripla.
