captainslog - IMO IDCC will be obliged to accept any award, exactly as it is awarded, once it is announced. I don't believe they will announce to shareholders they won n$ but hold on, we are going to negotiate with it.

IMO, once the award is announced, NOK's 2G options die with it.

IDCC wants more the NOK wants to pay. If the arb panel decides on the side of IDCC, then and only then will NOK will decide how to respond and what to negotiate for. To my thinking, there is very little or even nothing that will bring NOK to the table with IDCC until the arb panel decides.

cap...

re:We will know the outcome of the arb decision before NOK will sit down with IDCC to discuss a comprimise.

if the arb panel rules, and it is in favor of idcc, then why should idcc comprimise on anything? nok has their chance now to try and come to an agreement, if it goes the distance, no reason for idcc to negotiate anymore.

re:then and only then will NOK will decide how to respond and what to negotiate for.

after the arb rules, it isn't up to nok anymore to "decide" how to repsond or what to negotiate. talking time is over when the arb decision comes down....

Nokia benefitted from the timeline and certainly must have considered it?The Euro has appreciated over 30% since this arb started thus saving Nokia anything it could have cost them to not negotiate.I think that entered into their decision to not make an agreeable compromise.Note Nokia was always going to have to pay but how could they reduce the amount.I think most could see atthe inial trigger the Euro was undervalued..Nokia simply rolled the dice and won.Now the scenario is changing and Nokia must realize the shoe is on the other foot. This bodes well for IDCC re any continuing negotiations?
