gman: If the arb award becomes public and then Idcc reduces it by several hundred million dollars in return for a 3G license, would not presently paying licensees for 2G want a discount under MFL clauses?
The reason IDCC will want to negotiate is that they want and need a 3G rate set with NOK. The only way this stock will do anything significant is if IDCC can get a 3G rate from NOK. The only way NOK will sit down and discuss a 3G rate is if the arb panel rules in favor of IDCC in a major way, and they won't know that until the arg panel rules.
I predicate all that on the assumption that there is no reason for IDCC to sit down at the table with NOK unless there is a 3G rate up for discussion. Otherwise, if I were IDCC I wouldn't sit at the table with NOK.
