Sloane...look at slide 14 of this presentation for the answer to your question....(Consumer Electronics is ~4.5 Billion in 2011, but will quadruple to 16 Billion in 3 years).

What people are ignoring is the Data Services Market (where I think IDCC will start signing licenses this year) and the M2M market (which is growing in leaps and bounds and IDCC is fully entrenched).

Sloane, I remember a conversation that I had with Jack Indekeu of Interdigital over 2 years ago. It was right after the iWOW license signing in 2009:

Jack's point was to keep our eyes on the M2M market. He commented/implied that it would be an incredible growth area and a good source for revenues.

Many laughed at that license at the time. The obvious point is that cell phones as we knew them are becoming a smaller piece of a much bigger pie.

Another very good point that was made to me is that while we're focused on tomorrow and next month, Interdigital is looking ahead 5 years and 10 years at a time.
