Intel can go in an prove that AMD had a less than stellar chip in that period, and can prove that this may have been the reason why AMD lost marketshare.

You can't prove something as subjective as that especially when it patently isn't true, the Athlon did not detoriate to deserve being totally dropped or restricted, it has made consistent progress since its creation . The raided documents showing the terms of the agreements show the real reason.
