so now we are killing off our young men and women in Afganistan and nobody can explain what the hell we are fighting for.

That's so interesting that NOW you're upset. Did you ask that same question of your hero, Bush when he invaded a country where 17 of the 19 "hijackers came from Saudi Arabia?

Let's see, you've been a member of IHub since 2006. I'm sure you can find a post or two of yours where you questioned Bush and asked him what the hell we are fighting for.

"Korea and Vietnam and we still don't learn" - We proved that by our invasion of Iraq and as long as the US has a strong military industrial complex coupled with pols who LIE, we will never "learn".

"now we are killing off our young men and women in Afganistan" - Where was all that outrage when Bush LIED and began his trumped-up war in Iraq after pledging during his 2000 campaign pledge that he was against nation building? Regarding Afghan, there was rationale after 9/11 to go into Afghan but Bush used 9/11 for an opportunity to invade Iraq, a third world country with a third world military and had the world's 3rd largest potential oil supply. The invasion of Iraq HAS to be the US' crime of the century...and to add insult to injury ignorant Repubs re-elected Bush because they were easily manipulated into believing there's a terrorist under every bed, and their love of war to show US "might". The US is paying the price of Bush's LIE both in int'l reputation and our domestic economy. Eventually we have to pay China back for Bush borrowing from China to keep the cost of his war off the books - ironic, isn't it, Repubs who loved Bush's war now scream the loudest when the mention of taxes is raised - they still believe in a free lunch.

"I'm sorry that the women there are treated as dogs but that is not my problem" - THAT is an incredible statement.
