Re: Rachel, I'd disagree with that statement. If the industry got behind a campaign of a more secure PC for consumers, I think it would sell like hotcakes. Who wouldn't want a more secure PC?

Pardon my interjection, but, when you have so many consumers out there that don't even know about something as simple as renewing your virus protection to stay relatively safe what do they know from a secure PC? Why I've known smart people, well-educated people, freakin' Ph.D's in science who hadn't a clue as to what email viruses were capable of or how they ended up in their email boxes, and please, no, don't download that cute cursor.

What does the average Joe know from "more secure?" To quote my cousin Kathleen, bless her heart "Oh we've got virus protection. It came with the computer we bought in 2001. Why would we need to update it?" ;)

Wildman, w/all dou respect, you're wrong: "If the industry got behind a campaign of a more secure PC for consumers, I think it would sell like hotcakes." ...and, jusy WHO would those secure PCs "for consumers" be doing business with?! IF NOT FOR A SECURED NETWORK OF COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIALM BUSINESSES FIRST!!! WHO WOULD THE MINIONS OF THE WORLD TRANSACT WITH?! think, only that the ebays et al. are but a scant fraction of global commerce!!!!
