Jbog,

Expecting rationality out of each short term stock movement is error. The difficulty is that at times the movements are rational and are based on uneven dissemination of information. And when we get punched, we remember it and conclude the market is rational and better informed than we are. But that is not always the case.

I may still prove wrong in my views of how the L market will split.

MNTA: ... there is no logical reason that MNTA lost 12% in the past 2 days alone, let alone the drop from the mid $20's.

Well a good exercise for the board is to figure out a fair per share price for the Lovenox portion of MNTA assuming Teva were to be approved tomorrow.

Then we can try a "sum of the parts" analysis going from there.

Why MNTA is selling off.

I think it's only because hedge funds see biotech stocks, in particular, in this environment, in the light of

If there's not a compelling reason to buy (i.e., more news) then that is a compelling reason to sell.

I think that's why we've seen several (many?, most?) biotech stocks sell off after major (for them) positive news. Long term, this arena should make for good buying opportunities. If the economy crashes, all bets are off.
