Zen - Completely agreed. It's a difficult situation because at times the bashers inspire some really good posts from Longs, but if you have the basher on Ignore and you also have the Ignore feature on the bashers response, you miss everything. On the other hand, if you don't have the feature on to ignore the post in response to bashers, you end up seeing a lot of garbage responses also.
I don't know, I know Snack is thinking twice about this, but I lean towards a board where I can post and only receive responses from people who want Wave to be successful so their responses to my post are something like they want to learn more, or they agree or disagree with my post and tell me why. But I am sick of receiving posts from people who haven't educated themselves at all about the space and throw out senseless comments in order to put a negative spin on things. Because at that point, you almost feel obliged to respond in order to defend yourself. It's an endless circle that I think this board is incapable of changing.
How fun is it to find good DD and then to have it ruined by a bunch of naysayers who aren't really interested in learning more? Don't get me wrong either, I don't care for a board of pumpers either, and we have a few of them here also. But I'd hope we could call those people out respectfully with a private message on a new board. For now, I don't say anything to the pumpers because it offsets the bashers.
All in all, I don't think this board is doing very hot right now. But who knows. Maybe it will get better.
