Snacks, DDD, Zen, others. Personally I think this board is no longer viable. The naysayers
have way too much latitude. I find myself often scrolling down 20 names
before bothering to read a post. "Ignore" isn't such a great alternative
because it is frustrating to read only half a conversation and using the double ignore mechanism will likely be a problem as well. I see no
benefit whatsoever to Wave longs to keep the bashers
on the board. These people have an agenda of disruption, for whatever
motive. Every answer to their posts encourages them and unfortunately many
well-meaning Wavoids feel compelled to spar with them, a useless exercise at
best and actually damaging as it sustains them and diminishes the board for
the longs. People who want to have a good time with their friends and invited guests often have a bouncer to keep out the unwanted problem children. This board has a lot of value and should do the same.
AWK's leaving the board has really brought this to a head, IMO. Losing one of AWK's brilliant posts cannot be outweighed by all the posts and responses over the years to these clowns!
I suspect that the main reason some people are hesitant to move to a premium board is the money (after all, it's the equivalent of 80 Wave shares per year--at today's prices). Perhaps Matt/IHub would be willing to offer a discount (say $50) for members joining the premium board for some period of time? After all, I suspect they would be getting a large # of paying subscribers all at once. Once such a board was underway, I also suspect that most, if not all, Wave longs would eventually join. If they're truly interested in their investment they would find the time savings of digging up info on Wave to be well worth that small amount of money.
Sorry this is so long, but one last thing: I don't believe there is any way that many Wave longs can resist answering the bashers, for one reason or another. It simply won't work. Let's just have IHub make a reasonable proposal and start surfin' with the Wave LongBoard!
