Maybe once Intel is forced (as is required in the settlement) to disclose every case in its compiler and libraries where optimizations are not applied to non-Intel processors, they'll suddenly find a reason to switch.

you mean those less than 1% of companies that use the intel compiler... when I was talking with a group of intel programmers one night downtown, not far from your place actually, when I mentioned the Intel compiler they asked who uses it???
