GEO, the difference is now the thieves barely even have to disguise their schemes. Some call it Corporatism but I say it is a total Kleptocracy where the political Kleptocrats and Big Business, especially investment banks, lift formerly unimaginable sums of scam money out of the U.S. and the world with little resistance and only lip service accountability. Part of the diabolical dynamic is the blind faith the Gov Lovers exhibit as their votes for "Hope and Change" reap only more swift and direct mechanisms of pilfer....imho hge

You're thoughts are becoming more coherent. Without knowing a damn thing about the intricacies of the banking system, I'd like to apply some simple logic.............

I don't believe those who claim a disaster would have resulted if the banks had failed or more accurately....there would have been no difference from what we see today because.............At any given point, a bank has x amount of money and asstes. Whether they stay in business or fail or whether the gov bails them out or takes them over, what can possibly be different?

I believe that throughout history...and, especially in more current (20th century) history, what we can loosely call the interconnected banking system of power brokers which exists within the industrialized world has caused much of the world's distress and have significantly impacted the global economy and profited by conflict and war.

Agreed. Anyone who reads should be able to come to that conclusion. The only point of disagreement I have with you is to blame it all on progressives and liberals. That's nonsense on its face and a leftover of hanging around with too many brainless right wing rabble rousers, lol.

"It should be no surprise that when rich men take control of the government, they pass laws that are favorable to themselves. The surprise is that those who are not rich vote for such people, even though they should know from bitter experience that the rich will continue to rip off the rest of us. Perhaps the reason is that rich men are very clever at covering up what they do.": Andrew Greeley (Chicago Sun-Times, February 18, 2001):

GEO .. your

I believe there is a war going on....economic....and, to the extent there is a "war"....I want the "enemy" (in this case the
socialist nations to suffer as much damage as we can inflict upon them....I want the socialist "European model" crushed)

I want those systems "neutralized"...if it takes death and destruction, I don't care....because right
now...the US is the target....[...] .. it's like the left's full scale assault as they come in for the kill shot)

Those bits of yours reminded me of a recent post .. read your words again .. now read ..

Fanatics or true believers are particularly dangerous, in that they may perceive their terrorist actions as a means for achieving a greater good. This results in a reversal of morality, whereby the taking of innocent lives may come to be viewed as righteous action to be rewarded both in the present and after one's death. .. imo, your words put you in that group .. this i will just leave in .. Certainly, the pairing of religion and hate is an extremely destructive combination. Religious validation of hate and social inequity only serves to fuel enmity. One of the most effective ways to maintain hate and social inequities is to cite religious doctrine. In fact, leaders may selectively use religious doctrine or scripture to dictate that other religious groups be held as inferior, thereby promoting the formation of intra-religious hatred and the potential for terrorism. [...]

Unfortunately, they have been made to feel needed, valued, and efficacious by their involvement in the terrorist
organization, and this leads them to develop a high level of loyalty to both the leader and the group.

Robert Lifton argues that one of the features of highly destructive groups is totalism, which extends beyond an
"us-them" dichotomy to an "us against them" philosophy.
[...] .. your words are clearly, ""us against them"".

To me, your words make you clearly and undeniably a true believer supporter of state terrorism.

if it takes death and destruction, I don't care

All for a righteous good.

Guessing the list was only of original, first-step, recipients of TARP $$$$. Is that the simple answer to your question?

let me ask the question....where on this list are the foreign banks? List of TARP fund recipients

Your list of TARP fund recipients .. http://projects.nytimes.com/creditcrisis/recipients/table

Why weren't the foreign bank agreements publicly proclaimed? Dunno. Maybe some
thought it might be unpopular. Kinda like the military's attitude to the leaked massacre films.

The decision to save AIG was made. Under the agreements, the money had to be paid to foreign
banks. There was main-street opposition to the bail-out. Why would you add another burden to bear.
