BSR David,

I really don't care who's idea it is, but it's stupid.

My main objection is that if you don't get insurance you still be be given medical care. From the person's view who doesn't have health insurance, unless the government gives it to him free, why bother. Nothing changes. He still can go to the emergency room, he'll still get whatever drugs he needs so in essance nothings different for him today.

IF we gave everyone the ability to buy healthcare and we said if you don't buy it you're not getting care it would be a different thing.

As this bill unrolls it is so full of garbage. Employers with over 50 employees have to have a seperate location to allow women to breast pump for 1 year after giving birth. Not the bathroom anymore.

It also has $8 billion for bike path's and gyms?

Give me a break.

Gaming the system

Second, coverage is not immediate. Apply today, you'll wait 30 days for it to kick in. You'd be forced to pay for the uncovered bills in the meantime.

If I were an insurance company I would start a new class of thirty day insurance policies.

if insurance doesn't kick in for thirty days a person could be wiped out if they break a hip or have a sudden problem like a heart attack or stroke. An insurance company could probably make a fortune charging 400-500 dollars a month for thirty day policies that would cover these kinds of problems until the person gets a new policy that covers pre existing conditions after thirty days.

It would alleviate the mind of a person like myself that could lose all of their assets for a thirty day hospitalization and surgical expenses.
