The only individual I believed was receiving excessive bonuses was HC and even he cut back after obvious negative feedback on the chat boards. I did not dwell on the bonuses because they are a way of life created by the MBA's and CPA's in methods to avoid double taxation. My biggest beef has been the continual selling off of the bonus shares by the recipients. Had they held the shares and sold just enough for paying taxes on the bonus/compensation and demonstrated insider support and belief in the future of the company and shareprice, I would never have objected.
IMO, you are being far too harsh on the BOD and the employees in light of their recent efforts to lay the predicate that the bonus program is truly result oriented and not a monkey see, monkey do, entitlement program in order to keep pace with the Joneses in the industry. The steps taken in December were positive and do not deserve your negative responses. I believe 2008 was a banner year for IDCC and felt the bonuses issued were fair. I feell that 2009 was a horrible year for IDCC and a complete shutout on the vesting of shares was very appropriate and a good example for those hired to produce results for the company.
Now you have made your point and I have made mine and we should just agree to disagree.
