Holder said the Justice Department was moving forward on more than 5,000 pending financial institution fraud cases and the FBI was investigating more than 2,800 mortgage fraud cases — up nearly 400 percent from five years ago.

Well 5,000 plus 2,800 is 7,800 TOTAL cases by two different departments..What was the point of your post??

A few months ago I spoke with a guy who's pretty high up at FINRA. He said a lot of changes would be coming this year; that they'd probably be in place by summer.
