But this is so much more than just about infringing.
This is about owning the gateway.
For both $$$ and marketing data which is proving to be an exceptionally valuable commodity - as Google has proven.

Many can deny the gateway, but sooner or later, there will be no room for denial.
Question - has MS learned their lesson and can they afford to miss out in their rivalry with Google.

Can anyone say 'cha ching'.

IMO, I do not think they want to miss out on this boat.

Had a wonderful dream the other day.
About a bidding war between the two behemoths.
For little ol Neomedia.

I woke up before the bidding was complete.
But I sure like where it was at when I woke up :)

Again, can anyone say 'cha ching'

Microsoft will license or buy Neomedia.

Many think that Microsoft will not license unless forced to. Historically, there are good reasons to believe that that may be true. However, the mobile market is enormous. The damage to Neomedia that would be caused by a patent infringement by Microsoft would also be enormous. Therefore, the penalty for an IP patent infringement by Microsoft would also be enormous. I think that Microsoft is wiser than it is greedy, and on this basis I say that it will either license or buy Neomedia. The possibility that it will pirate the IP and not pay Neomedia is, I think, remote.

Steve Balmer has seen NeoMedia's technology demonstrated in his office. Microsoft knows about NeoMedia and most likely has an NDA with them. Time is coming close. Get'em while you can. :)
