Data published by IMS Research* shows that, in the combined transportation, critical infrastructure and ports & borders sectors, Smiths Detection has a 31% market share, compared to its main competitors being L3 Security & Detection Systems (10.5%), Rapiscan Systems (9.7%), Nuctech (8.6%) and AS&E (6.4%). In the Military and Emergency responder markets, which are not included in this data, the main competitors are General Dynamics, Bruker, Environics and Canberra.

Two Germans, a husband and a wife are getting into their car after spending the day at the zoo.

Once in the car the husband starts the engine and shortly after the wife starts screaming SNAKE!

To the husbands surprise the starting of the car had disturbed a snake from under the hood that was slowly slithering across the windshield.

He calms his wife and at one point she asks what kind of snake is that? The husband answered "Vell Honey it is a Vindsheild Viper"

They do have a habit of picking up smaller companies. In my DD though I found on their site an PR announcing that they had bought a smaller company that was a one trick pony similar to IDO and I think it only went for $4 mil.

So even if they did I don't think it would benefit IDO shareholders. Bu what do I know.
