geo, if they waited until the deals were done to convert they wouldn't get as many shares because the pps would be higher after the acquisitions are closed. remember? lower pps = more shares. if they convert now at these levels they'll own more shares when the stock runs higher. who wouldn't want more $$ per share on more shares? this seems pretty basic to me.
