Jesus Christ! What is it with you people who want to bomb others who don't agree with us/hate us! Again...AQ attacked the US on 9/11 - THAT is who the US should be going after and since Bush quit the job he was being paid for, it's left to Obama to clean up Bush's mess.
Did you know that in May 2001 Pres Bush authorized $25 million to go to the Taliban to reduce the drug Afghanistan produced. You see when they took over Afghanistan produced over 3,000 tons of poppy and they got it down to about 7 tons. Quite a drop and we wanted them to continue - but in reality the $25 million was in a sense a bribe as the Taliban were going to make a decision in June on who would build a pipeline - we lost and then things got dicey. The Taliban were not our enemy but were enemies to women and anything not strict Muslim in their country. They also were a thorn in Iran and India's side as Pakistan helped prop them up and used them when needed. Why do you think Iran was helping us in afghanistan capture Al-queda (their enemies) and we could have really helped our relation with them but the incompetent one shrugged them off.
Oh and now the poppy production is over 4,000 tons - and we I guess are helpless to stop it as our puppet Karzi (who was also the lead consultant for that pipeline project for Unocal in Texas and the Taliban visited Texas when shrub was Gov)whose brother is the head of the drug kingpins over there.
No wonder we can't get out - poppy prices would escalate if the Taliban started to reduce inventory when they got back in power and our oil pipeline would be in jeopardy. Our military needs to stay there to protect our private interests.
