Re: AQ attacked the US - the Taliban did not.

AQ's claim to fame is 9/11, but that does not change the fact that the Taliban is an enemy of the U.S.

- They are contributors to the drug trade
- They are harborers of terrorists, including AQ, and others
- They are an oppressive radicalist regime that contributes to the Middle East as being an epicenter of unrest, making it a haven for terrorist networks

We went to war in Afghanistan originally, because we wanted to go after AQ, and the Taliban were directly harboring, protecting, and funding them. So by association, we went to war with the Taliban. Now, Iraq was a complete lie, but that's a different story.

AQ may have moved into Pakistan, but I believe that finishing off the Taliban regime is the right thing to do. We just went in without an exit strategy, and no way to transition from a frontal force, to a more special ops force. And again, the Iraq situation is still FUBAR, and we shouldn't have invaded in the first place.
