Some people seem to think that the player's agents have a lot to do with the pitch count phenomenon.

If a pitcher throws less pitches per game, maybe it adds a year or two to his career?

More money in the agent's pocket.

Also include General Managers and Owners.

With million of dollars invested in long term contracts, they can not afford to have a pitcher miss a few seasons, such as Carl Pavano.
