Telstar... Too funny...

Having met Adm. Inman a few years back here in Austin, I can tell you he's about as much a SALES GUY (in however you choose to frame that) as you are an IT guru. And that's not an attack. It's just the way he operates.

But... that's JUST FINE... in my books. He's got NSA and military credentials. He's got contacts. He's got credibility in some key communities. He's got TECHNICAL know-how.

It is beyond obvious that he is being brought in for some SPECIFIC engagements... and opportunities. And Wave was wise to bring in someone who is NSA-friendly.

Best Regards,

telstar: Selling...

To think that one sells a groundbreaking new technology concept to the Gov. with a few aggressive salesmen... well, it doesn't quite work that way.

Evidence is that the Gov. will use the TCG architecture in the forthcoming new network layouts. This is the result of many years of investing, hard work and collaboration between Wave and others and the Gov.

Wave's product has evolved in symbiosis with the various Gov. agencies and Wave's strategic planning and product developments.

Yes, it is nice to have new blood like Bobby Inman helping Wave out but, in and of itself, this latest announcement, and the input of Bobby Inman, would be totally worthless without the foresight of the, what you call, inept salesmanship of the company.

There are always many layers... it's not quite as simple as you and a few others think...

It seems to me that the gov't is reaching a material decision point on how to secure its IT infrastructure for the future. If it goes the way we hope, the impact to Wave would be more than mega material (it would be Intel to the 10th power). While I don't know the Admiral personally, the bio suggests that he is as connected as you could be to the departments and decision makers. You say he may not be the cure all-- hard to say but if Wave gets locked into the underlying infrastructure for gov't., and in turn public and private companies who do business with the government have to adopt a similar infrastructure, Wave could become ubiquitous.
