Thank you MIB for your cogent and salient words for
Linda in her time of distress and confusion. Free will
God gave us and her husband that she loves, is living
in his free will, and not the Father's will for his life..
YET.....and Linda being the example, the rock, can
be the impetus for his repentance and seeking after
God....she must stay the course that God has ordained,
unless he gets physical or abusive and then the course
changes....for we all sin and fall short of the Glory
of God.....off the soapbox, and just want Linda to
know that prayers are coming her way, and that her
prayers and supplication are what will make the difference
imho, as we have not, because we ask not...ask, seek
and knock(A S K)......peace.

MIB. Unfortunately your reply is going to force me to be very blunt here. I have re-written this a few times in regards to Linda's feelings involved here knowing it is hard to read all of this. Yes, she brought it to the board asking for advise but still it hurts to read this.

I can also go and find scripture to support my stance if needed. In fact I can twist some also like you have done with the love your neighbor one. Scripture has quite a few other conditions about marriage. I would highly suggest your mate was never even considered here in that context. Not only that as I said before what is love? Enabling one to kill ones self? Is that love? Do you understand what Hep C is?
By standing by her man as you suggest just praying to God etc that more then likely is not going to stop him from going to the bar. The Bible has story after story of drastic action that took place to change people.
Love can be tough sometimes.
That doesn't mean it's not love.
Many scriptures talk about not being a FOOL.
If you have counseled as many as you proclaim you'd know 99.9% chance says adultery has ALREADY taken place.
Either that or you haven't spent enough time in bars to know what goes on.


Unless she is at risk of physical harm or danger this is not the thing to do.


She has been MENTALLY ABUSED for years.
That is physical harm.
When you speak of love I suggest you go re-read her posts. Read my replies especially the last few.
LOVE has MANY MEANINGS.

Aren't we glad that God did not just throw us away or over the cliff when He was righfully mad at us for our sins?

We all know we are sinners.

And we all know there are CONSEQUENCES to our sins!

Jesus forgives sins but never promised to eliminate the consequence of them.

I could write a book about this situation.
It is a classic case of where tough love is needed trusting God that during this time he will come to his senses.

Staying with him has produced ZIP. It has only allowed him to make her rely on him even more. The longer woman are used as strange as it may sound the harder it is for them to separate in order to say enough is enough until you get your act together.
