#6683 RE: gottfried #6682

Gottfried, My recent eMachine buy has left me dumb-founded,
amazed and awe-struck, not so much the low price of $498,
but I feel I got a super pc that only has my internet connection
still in the horse & buggy era.
My monitor is fast fast fast to change screen views.
My CPU is as fast as a Terminator :o)

Mabye tc, Bruce and others can comment on what the list summary
I placed below from the URL you posted to remark on the strengths
and extra strengths these values give. I'am sure those needing more
like 2 or more monitors might not be able to choose from this list
unless the box allows additional boards to be added.

Note: All prices are AFTER rebates.

Something not right with my cheapo eMachine...

As I mentioned, for the low price I got a lot,
infact much more than I thought possible,
and what I got works better than I expected,
eventhought I fully expected some parts would
have to be expected as low end cheapo stuff,
of sandwhich as expected the two little speakers
are good only for beeps, squawks, squeaks & talks.

Not yet explored this pc to know what soundcard
it has installed, but I'am sure its better than
what my two old ears need.

ok... so I'am at Wal-Mart and decide to buy CDs
of the RW type to use as a backup harddrive.

Already have a half zillion of the R type for free
that I got at Staples with the mail-in rebate,
and I'am stiff guessing of the sure degree that
once you write to a R(ecord) type, its a one shot
and it then becomes only readable.

So need a few RW that act like a harddrive.

Don't do music or pictures, and even if so the R type
is more than suitable just so I load it up to Full
each time I save music, meaning organize the dump
before the final paper work is done.

Just realized that while each CD-R is something like
a big 600 or 800 MegaBytes, I have no idea how many
minutes of music that means.

ok... buyed at Wal-Mart for $5 is box of 5 CD-RW.

Got it in front of me now.
CD-RW 700MB 80 Minutes
Write From 1X up to 4X

Didn't get confused with a similiar box of same cost
of 5 CD-RW at Wal-Mart of same Memorex since that one
was for a super fast 24X or 48X CD of writable speed.

Did seem strange being identical in cost, quanity
and storage size since I would have guesses that
a CD built for super writing speed would cost more,
but nope, same price. Anyway, for sure the CD on my
cheapo pc was the low speed version.

Me buying my pc was like paying for a Ford Pinto
and getting a Ford Mustang 5.0 like BobZ has/had.
Expected cheapo speakers, and got them, plus expected
to see a lower speed limit rating on the tires mounted
on 13 inch VW Rabbit wheels.

But but but my eMachines CD-RW is Ultra Speed 48X Write.

Golly Good Gosh, Rated to drive 220 mph :o)
