Doug and tc, I just burned my first CDs ever today and was pleased how easy it was [right click on file and send to CR-RW drive]. Now I can get rid of all floppies and ZIPs with stuff on them. One of my ZIP disks is not being recognized by the drive any more. I'm not doing anything heroic to recover that disk.

I still like the emachine T2885 on day three. Marvelling at how quiet it is! [Once I had to take an HP pc back because it was too noisy]. Have not even installed speakers and printer yet. Even if speakers are poor, I have some others I can use.

tc: let your credit card have its way! The bundle sale ends Saturday, May 1.

PS: this morning I could not get on the internet and thought the new PC had crapped out, but it was just a local Comcast outage.

Doug, somewhat OT: "Toyota, Honda, Hyundai Top
J.D. Power Quality Survey" is the head line of a WSJ story today.

Remember when Hyundai was poor quality? Well, they improved - a lot. I have a 2 year old Elantra and all the maintenance I've done is oil changes. Best car I've ever had.

emachines also used to be pooh-pooh'd, but from what I can see they're as good as the big names - maybe better. Certainly cheaper.

PS: a neighbor bought a Dell desktop and already had to reinstall the OS after one week. Then it failed again and now Dell is sending him a new machine.

Doug, is the problem that the cdrw burner is to fast for the CDRW's you bought? In windows explorer, right click on the cd burner, select properties. in the pop-up window select the recording tab, at the bottom you can select a slower speed.
