do not know where you live

but

a simple test of the truth of your assertion

>>>Well hap, bad times will come for them too. We've had our experiment and it's beginning to fail<<<

would be the traffic that all of us (they) endure

as we go about our (their) daily lives

just back from Key West

heavy traffic down and back

maybe a 100 miles in construction widening I95 (and US1) (I95 to three lanes (or more) each way -- US1 to two lanes thru the first Keys)

how is it in your area ?

(I understand traffic jams a real problem in the counties memtioned}

woof, our "experiment" has worked thus far because of our ability to adapt. When it gets steered by too few, it fails to adapt. the last time that happened was in the 20's, and it took a strong person siding with the poor to pull us out of it. regardless of what you think of FDR, he navigated through some tough stuff that led other countries to communism or civil war.

this time, we have a small cabal concentrating wealth at unimagined rates, and it has to stop. There is still time to do it politically, and it is why it is so important to stop McCain. McCain is not a bad person, he just represents the wrong path.

to turn the juggernaut without internal war, it will take an incredibly tough and resilient person. Obama is not that person, IMHO... it would take him time to even to even learn to navigate the maelstroms of power and would have unknown ability to deal with it. Hillary and Bill could at least turn the corner... when he said he was for the economy, he meant it, and did it... i have no reason to believe hillary would not do the same. at least they could pull the pendulum back a bit as a known quantity.
There is little other choice in my opinion.
