I do agree with you that wanting information is far from ridiculous.
However, thinking that the company and/or IR is responsible to give us information when we want it is also ridiculous.
One thing I have found in the penny market is that companies that accede to share holders whims and put out PR's to placate them are doomed to failure. I have seen it over and over. The cry for information and then when the information is not what people expect the incessant crying that the company doing what theyhould to support the PPS.
Now, I'm talking in general and as such will use big well established companies as an example. Does Apple do whatever the shareholders think is right? No, they go about their business and let the chips fall where they may. Heck, in many ways the drop they have recently encountered is because the company consistently puts out a very conservative guidance. Heck they beat the street estimates last Quarter but went down because guidance they provided.
I'm sure the shareholders were clamoring for the removal of high ranking officials. Yet, the BOD and CEO know that in the long run what they are doing is in the best interest of the company. Heck I bet the CEO and BOD own a ton of shares and don't appreciate a gfalling PPS anymore than shareholders do but the difference is that they know where they are headed and are willing to hold out until the business plan they developed takes hold.
That is difference between many(maybe even most) investors and company's. Investors are looking at a portfolio and basing feeling on that while company officials are looking at the next 8 to 10 moves like a chess game. Knowing where they are going and what to project.
Why the meetings were canceled is not known. Since investor's from different parts of the country and world were to partake and company officials coming from Canada and EDS from New Jersey. Once the first cancellation happens it's like a snowball because not everyone's plans can change quickly enough to accomodate the other.
It not only happens in business but in our daily life. Try cancelling a doctor's or Dentist appointment and see how long it is before you find a date that accomodates both parties.
IMO, within a week this topic will be buried and forgotten and the glee and exuberance that once ran so rampant, that I posted a caution, will be back.
