Hi Alea, everything that I've read indicates
that the upcoming Eaglelake Q45 and Q43 chipsets
will be directed toward business users.
I dont see it reaching the consumer, at least for a while.

Like the previous chipsets, e.g. 35, 965, there will be
3 chip flavors, P,G, and Q, with the Q-series supporting
the Executive or business platform that will support- AMT, VT, TXT, 1.2, DANBURY.

Up till now Wave's largest opportunities have been with notebooks using FDE and secure wireless apps.
Eaglelake Q-series will add desktop applications to the mix,
which adds another platform of opportunities.

I wonder if Danbury's release in the Q2 timeframe will put pressure on Seagate to
release the desktop 3.5" FDE drive.
More is better!

Alea

Seems to me that SKS has telegraphed that for years, but few have paid much attention. SKS uses the term SUBSCRIBER MANAGEMENT.

Think what kinds of premium content can be delivered to people who have subscribed. The system allows you be authorized and authenticated to sign onto a server IF YOU'VE PAID a fee as well as to sign on if you've properly met the networks requirements. It would allow consumers to be managed in ways I'm pretty sure exist, but which I can't conceive of. I'm sure the corporations will figure out what sells better to customers who they can authenticate and run against the databases.

The old eamonshute concept of buying a chapter a week or a kid's subscription to a site comes to mind. Granted much of this stuff has been worked out with credit cards security that bypassed Wave, but where there's a tecnology -- there will be niches which will be invented where money can be made.

That is the true genius of not so free markets.
