I hate doing plumbing work too Larry,

but not as much as I hate paying a plumber to do it.

What I hate the most is when they get to the job, they have to leave for two hours to go and get the supplies.

Of course you have to pay for that time too.

I had an electrician once here to install an exhaust fan in a bathroom. I could have done it, but I had other things to do.

Anyway, he looked at the job, went to pick up supplies, was gone at least two hours.

When he got back he was telling me about a discussion he got into with another customer at the store, and advising them how to solve their problem.

I asked him if was I paying for the advice he gave to the person.

He looked at me with a deer in the headlights look and went to work.

I haven't invited him back.

skeballlarry, I hear ya...

Working under sinks, been there done that.

Safety goggles, yes but eyes are getting old and hard to see with em on. And that chit in your eyes ya.

The worst is overhead soldering with that chit dropping in your face. Or just a little water in the pipe blasting out some steam with a little flux right in the eye, now thats a pain.

I too try to remember the glasses whenever I can.

Just did a set of kitchen faucets in a 4 unit apt, no shutoffs so had to shut down the whole building. Then cheap taps with steel nuts, behind sink and pipes, in-accessable, so had to pull the whole sink as a unit. New taps, drain fittings and shutoffs. I always use the brass / teflon seal mini ball valves, never had a problem with them. Don't even ask the customer if they want em its just part of the package.

Hope your job continues not to leak.
